Your faux fur garment is constructed to last many seasons of wear and tear-- from elegant parties to outdoor activities; and from keeping you warm on your bed all night , to keeping you warm out on a dry lake bed all night!

Our trained experts have put them through the rigors of camping in fire and ice, trekking around the world in 80 days, dancing the night away in downtown clubs, and secluded moonlit nature settings, and being packed, dragged, tossed, shared, spilled on, slept on (and in), and being petted all night by fawning admirers.

These faux fur and polyester satin or fur-velour lined items spring back after hard use time after time. There are a few simple things you can do to keep them in good shape:

1. NEVER bring your coat, hat or accessory to any dry cleaner. Too many items have been ruined by these establishments, with the honest intention of both parties to take the very best care of the garment. Barring the rare expert establishment, normal dry cleaners WILL ruin your faux fur. And given the easy alternative (below) it’s worth you (or a good friend) doing this instead:

2. Wash the item in the washing machine. Cold water, a little bit of detergent. Gentle cycle. Hang dry. Done. (Add a little vinegar to the water if you are trying to get rid of alkaline dust. You know the kind I mean…)’(… ) Lightly brush the fur in the proper direction before hanging to dry so it will retain the pattern, if needed.

3. NEVER TUMBLE / HEAT DRY! This will turn your downy fur into cheesy fake sheep wool. Forever. Just hang dry them and lightly brush.

4. Basic rule: Spot wash places that need it first, and machine wash only if necessary. Many people don’t know that machine washing is tough on all clothing fibers. Wash your faux fur as little as possible. 2 or 3 times a year with heavy use, less with less use.

5. Keep faux fur away from open flame, heaters and radiators. The synthetic fibers will melt into little black plastic balls.

6. Be mindful that your lining may snag on sequined garments, belt buckles and decorative elements.

7. Sun will fade both the linings and fur if it is exposed ongoingly. Be sure to store in a closet or away from windows.
